HNIC in Boston

BOSTON magazine (BM) has an article in it's current issue titled "HEAD NEGRO IN CHARGE". We all know the real term is HEAD NIGGER IN CHARGE and the title in BM is a blatant paraphrase.

Is BOSTON Magazine ignorant to the history of this term? I think not. The true meaning is the head slave that kept all the other slaves in line with whips and other means of discipline.

Here's is the opening statement of the article:

"As chief interpreter of the black experience for white America, Harvard's Henry Louis Gates Jr. may be the most influential black man in the United States today. Having created a power base that extends deep into the nation's media-entertainment complex, Gates has brought money and glamour to the country's great racial debate. In the parlance of black activists, he has become the new...HEAD NEGRO IN CHARGE." by Cheryl Bentsen

Now tell me, is BOSTON Magazine ignorant to the meaning or did they cleverly use a blatant racist term? BOSTON Magazine refuses to apologize to Louis Gates Jr and the black community at large.

DO NOT PURCHASE!!! Again, DO NOT PURCHASE!!! If you're curious about the article read it at a newstand or read it at the following web site: htttp://www.bostonmagazine.com/highlights/gates.shtml

I urge you to write/call/e-mail BOSTON Magazine and their parent company METROCORP and flood them with your distaste of such poor cultural awareness and journalism. ALSO, write/call/e-mail the Mayor of Boston to stand up to BOSTON Magazine to not tolerate cultural ignorance and urge him to do something about Boston's RACIST reputation within the black community throughout the country.
